I grew up being homeschooled due to the frequency of travel for my Dad's work. It was a wonderful opportunity to bond as a family and see so many places but it also came with a good amount of inactivity, eating out for most meals, and not the healthiest choices. There was always a desire within me to be an athlete but being overweight at a young age made me insecure and uncomfortable in my own skin. When I hit high school I joined EVERY sport I could, let's just say basketball is not my sport even though I desperately wanted it to be. I tried out tennis, swim and water polo became my comfort zone. Each year from then on I learned different ways of exercising and eating. Out of high school, I became a personal trainer and the rest is history! I am continually learning and growing in the health and wellness space.
My turning point was in high school when I stepped on the scale and saw 200lbs. I was uncomfortable in my own skin and completely insecure in my body. Over the past 10+ years, I have lost over 80lbs. I still struggle with body image issues and food, but God is continually teaching and growing me in these areas.
My why. I know what it feels like to be a slave to food. I know how hard it is to make changes and how long it takes. I know what it is like to be uncomfortable in my own skin and to feel alone/isolated in it. I want to help others in understanding they are BIO INDIVIDUAL. No one is like you so each person has a unique body and what works for them. I am passionate about God and how He meets us in movement. He made our bodies and He alone is where we place our identity. I love mobility, strength training, and yoga. I am passionate about preventative practices, holistic and whole-body health. I want to use my experiences to help others and glorify God.
